Identify the actual narration requirement
Establish whether the job is Japanese narration, recurring English lessons or advertising audio. WellSaid’s listed Starter and Pro English offerings do not establish the same entry price for another language. If the required language or voice is unavailable under the proposed account, resolve the alternative’s applicable tier before spending time comparing performance that the budget cannot actually purchase.
Test the same revision in ElevenLabs
Trial ElevenLabs using a passage with names, numbers and abbreviations, then correct one reading. Judge the revised passage in context rather than relying on the first audition. If changing the speaker affects an established course, listen beside an existing lesson as well. A suitable replacement must support the series and its future corrections, not just one appealing standalone sample.
Compare different allowance meters honestly
WellSaid’s downloaded-audio allowance and ElevenCreative generation credits are different meters. For six short explainers, record finished duration, actual script characters and revision work. Do not equate an unlimited-generation label with another service’s credit balance. Price the same production task in each provider’s documented units, including the actions needed to retrieve approved deliverables.
Establish the production account before release
WellSaid Trial excludes commercial rights, and ElevenLabs Free has noncommercial and attribution conditions that differ from a suitable commercial account. Do not treat later payment as automatic permission for earlier evaluation output. Associate the plan active during production with the voice, script and intended publication. Retain the same record after switching so a cheaper trial does not become an unsupported assumption in a client delivery.
Migrate pronunciation knowledge separately
A WellSaid pronunciation export does not prove another provider accepts the same CSV or notation. Retain written spellings and intended readings in a human-readable form, then revalidate important terms with the new voice. Retrieve audio and captions before cancellation. Plan to migrate scripts and production knowledge; do not assume a provider-specific voice model itself can be transferred.
