Define the acceptance check for the final mix
This workflow checks the delivered mix rather than ranking voices or noise removal. Prepare a short passage containing quiet speech, background music and a louder event. If the destination supplies a technical loudness requirement, obtain that specification first. The check should address the actual delivery brief, without inventing one universal level that every platform or client requires.
Use a controlled comparison across editors
Compare Descript, VEED and CapCut using the same source, playback device and fixed device volume. Record the adjustments actually available and applied. This guide does not assign a normalization feature or measurement accuracy to every editor. Verify the required capability under the relevant plan and version instead of inferring it from general audio-editing language or a marketing label.
Review music around the quietest speech
Listen to dialogue alone, then add music and inspect quiet endings, numbers and names. A more energetic mix is not necessarily more intelligible. Listen once without looking at the picture to notice speech problems previously masked by visual context. This is an editorial listening procedure; it does not substitute for a measurement when the recipient requires a specific technical delivery value.
Inspect the actual export in its destination
Compare the editor preview and actual deliverable under the same conditions. Inspect the opening, transitions and ending for unwanted silence, abrupt changes or audible distortion. When using a phone and headphones, keep each comparison controlled and record the conditions. A successful preview is not sufficient evidence that the exported file and destination player behave as expected.
Repeat the check after a replacement passage
After replacing a sentence, recheck its neighbors rather than approving the new passage in isolation. Retain source audio and a record of the delivery check so another editor can repeat it. Link the review to the specific output and project revision. This supports later corrections or a change of editor without relying on an old compressed output as the only surviving production material.
