Make each row a repairable unit
If one template causes the same issue on a hundred pages, do not present a hundred unrelated engineering tasks. Record a representative URL and the affected set, then group by the underlying change. Separate page-specific exceptions from shared-component faults so owners can estimate work sensibly.
Use columns that support a decision
Useful columns include observed date, behavior, affected URL, referring page, user impact, proposed fix, owner, status and retest date. Retain a vendor severity label as context rather than treating it as your business priority. Explain which real task is interrupted by the fault.
Review duplicates and intentional behavior
Some findings describe an intentional exclusion or redirect. Inspect the page and its intended role; document why no change is needed when appropriate. Do not expand exposure or remove a correct redirect simply to make a crawler report look cleaner.
Example: one fault affects fifty pages
If a shared recommendation component links to a retired URL on fifty pages, the principal task is one component repair. Keep a representative URL, the affected set, intended destination and any exceptions in the worksheet. After release, check the representative path and exceptions and recrawl the relevant set where needed. Separating occurrence count from repair unit makes the request easier to estimate and verify.
Prioritize by the affected reader task
The same vendor severity can cover an interrupted sign-up path and a title issue on a rarely used reference page. Record who is affected and which task fails, then agree on urgency with the responsible owner. A low-traffic page may still support a critical process. Use role and impact together rather than traffic alone or the color of a warning. The worksheet should make that judgment visible to the person allocating repair time.
Define completion before implementation
Replace vague completion labels with observable conditions: the source now points to the intended URL and that destination serves the expected content. Retest the same scope after release and retain the result. Search impact is a separate observation from successful functional verification.
