Align the organization and billing period

Check the active organization, remaining credits, billing period and reset date in Org and Subscription. Avoid comparing different organizations or periods. Locate the day usage increased and note recent schedule, search, data or AI changes. Keep monetary charges separate from credit counts: they answer related questions but are not interchangeable measurements.

Find the runs responsible for the increase

Open Credit usage under Org > My Plan to inspect usage per scenario or agent run. Follow a high-usage scenario entry into its execution details and inspect module work. Record time, run ID, input count, usage and the latest relevant change. This provides a comparison that another operator can reproduce rather than relying on a visual impression of the graph.

Reveal empty checks in history

Check whether the history view hides check runs. Empty scheduled checks can otherwise be easy to overlook. Compare the current interval with the business response deadline. Before reducing frequency, confirm the source’s retrieval behavior and retention. A longer interval is useful only if it still meets the deadline and preserves the records the workflow is meant to process.

Trace how one input expands into many bundles

Look for broader searches, item-level iteration or several matching Router routes. An order containing twenty lines can create many more writes and notifications than a single-line order. Review where filtering occurs and whether a summary can replace repeated messages. Preserve required business effects while removing work that provides no useful output.

Inspect repeated work and AI input growth

Follow repeated source IDs when manual replays or recovery attempts increase. Check whether a write is being picked up again by the same workflow. For AI features, inspect input length, requested output and the selected connection’s charging rules. Custom provider connections may also incur a separate provider bill. Use recorded executions rather than assuming every AI module has a fixed identical cost.

Separate extra-credit spending from the technical fix

Review extra-credit purchases and auto-purchasing settings. Additional credits can have different pricing and validity conditions, so examine the current confirmation screen. Enabling automatic purchasing is a spending decision. Resolve or contain the cause, identify the business need to keep running, and let the responsible budget owner decide on the permitted capacity and settings.

Reconcile unfinished work after exhaustion

When capacity runs out, inspect source records, queued items and any temporary manual intake. Catch-up behavior also depends on the trigger and source. Restoring credits does not establish that every accepted request completed. Reconcile storage and delivery states by source ID, and account for external API limits if a backlog will create a burst of downstream activity.

Compare the change under similar conditions

Record practice input count, reporting window, AI input length and destinations. Change one relevant setting at a time and compare both usage per input and total daily usage. Those views distinguish improved efficiency from higher demand. This guide describes an investigation; its examples do not claim a measured saving or a verified performance result.
