Specify the insert before selecting a generator

Define Runway’s role inside the finished edit. A thirty-second product video with three five-second generated backdrops requires fifteen accepted seconds, not necessarily thirty generated seconds. Keep exact product appearance, prices and labels under controlled filming or editing. Where the same subject appears across shots, inspect the sequence rather than isolated attractiveness. Compare a generated treatment with existing photographs or screen footage before choosing the model and workload. This prevents the budget from expanding to an entire generated video when only a few visual inserts address the communication need.

Retain model identity in the usage estimate

Runway’s pricing information provides model-specific credit examples, so an identical balance does not imply identical generation capacity. Record the selected model, duration, resolution where applicable and displayed usage for each operation. If experiments and final candidates use different settings, preserve both instead of applying one assumed rate throughout. Check Creative web plans separately from developer usage. Establish access to the required model and the delivery format, including watermark conditions, before comparing capacity. The budget should describe the actual configuration that can produce the specified asset, not a generic price per finished second. Using the displayed Gen-4.5 example of sixty credits per five seconds, nine candidates imply 540 credits. Against 625, the remaining 85 is not a guarantee of room for every additional operation.

Treat the Free deposit as evaluation capacity

The Free help describes a one-time deposit of 125 credits that does not replenish after use. Do not subtract that deposit from every month of a recurring budget. Available models can change, so inspect the actual account and record any upgrade boundary. For evaluation, use one cleared reference and a narrow brief with acceptance criteria for shape, composition and motion. Distinguish what was actually evaluated from unavailable configurations. Exhausting an introductory allowance is evidence about that particular trial, not a controlled verdict on every model offered by the platform.

Budget attempts and define when to stop

Three planned candidates for each of three inserts imply nine initial attempts. That is a budgeting assumption, not a measured success rate. Log consumption, acceptance and rejection reason, reserving separate capacity and time for corrections. Repeated changes to product shape may suggest generating only the backdrop or switching to filmed material instead of extending the same prompt indefinitely. Set a time at which an unsuitable shot is replaced with an existing asset. Decide on extra capacity using both the remaining balance and the work needed to finish by the deadline.

Separate provider permission from input rights

Runway’s commercial-use help states that it imposes no noncommercial restriction on generated content and does not require attribution. That provider permission does not supply rights in an uploaded likeness, soundtrack or brand. For client delivery, retain the source provenance, selected model, date and intended use. Have the content owner review whether the visual invents a construction or capability absent from the real product. Agreement scope and factual accuracy are separate acceptance checks. An asset can be permitted by the provider yet still be unsuitable for the specific product explanation being commissioned.

Test finishing and future replacement

Bring the accepted clip into the real editor and finish duration, color, aspect ratio, sound and captions before reviewing the deliverable. Give the next operator the reference, brief, selected asset and timeline location, not only a flattened final video. Obtain necessary files before changing access rather than relying on a hosted library as the only revision source. A different model or provider should not be assumed to reproduce the identical shot. Replace one insert and inspect its neighboring scenes before extending the change across an existing production series.
