Define the first useful release

Use a single consultation room with thirty-minute appointments as the example. Collect a preferred slot, contact details and a short purpose. Leave payments, passes and multiple branches out of the first build. Ask the AI to label the result as a request received, with staff confirmation still pending. A saved request must survive a page reload before visual refinements become the priority.

Separate requests from capacity

Create requests with an identifier, owner, requested slot, status, creation time and version. Keep the slot schedule, staff assignment and capacity in another table. Lovable offers a Supabase integration, but connecting a backend does not define access rules for your business. Public availability responses should exclude contact details. Start with fictional customers and explicitly describe who may view and confirm each request.

Specify time and capacity rules

For this example, use Japan time for the business and close requests twenty-four hours before the start. Check the cutoff on the server rather than trusting a visitor's clock. A one-person slot can receive several requests if none is yet confirmed. On confirmation, lock the slot row inside the transaction before checking capacity, or use a conditional update that succeeds only while capacity remains. Commit the capacity decrement and the request's confirmed state in one database transaction. Disabling a button in one browser cannot coordinate two staff members.

Implement one transition at a time

Ask for request creation, customer history, staff confirmation and cancellation as separate changes. For each, state the allowed previous status and required permission. Repeating the same submission should return the existing receipt by using a stable request key. A loading indicator improves feedback, but it does not replace duplicate protection. Reject an attempt to confirm an already cancelled request without silently changing its state.

Follow a small rehearsal dataset

Prepare A and B for the same ten o'clock slot and C for eleven. The intended acceptance result is that confirming A blocks B while leaving C available. This is a proposed rehearsal, not a measured service result. Confirmation messages should include the request identifier, business-local time and cancellation route. A failed message should leave the confirmed booking intact and create a separate notification problem to resolve.

Handle stale changes and cancellations

Use a version check when a customer or employee updates a request. If the appointment changed after the screen opened, reload the record and explain the conflict rather than overwriting the newer time. Preserve cancellation history. Releasing capacity must be attached to a successful, one-time state transition so a repeated cancellation cannot create extra seats. Keep notification retries separate from appointment changes.

Save confirmation with capacity changes. A notification failure does not cancel the reservation.

Budget for building and operation

Track Lovable development usage separately from the database, outbound email and domain used by the published app. Include staff list reads, customer status checks and message retries in the workload estimate. Begin with one room and one appointment type. Confirm current allowances and excess-use behavior in the provider's billing interface before expanding; an inexpensive prototype does not establish the long-term cost of a public service.

Leave a practical recovery path

Provide an intake pause that does not hide existing confirmed appointments from authorized staff. If capacity becomes inconsistent, reconcile individual request IDs and the schedule instead of deleting records in bulk. Before release, rehearse signed-out access, another customer's account, full slots, duplicate submissions and interrupted connections. During the first operational trial, keep a person responsible for comparing the app with the existing appointment register.
