Separate two production methods
Decide whether the starting asset is an approved script or a recorded video. A new presenter-led explanation requires scene structure, backgrounds and a usable relationship between the presenter and supporting material. Translation of existing footage instead depends on source meaning, translated delivery, timing and text left inside the image. Treating both assignments as generic video generation hides the requirements. For a bilingual product announcement, prepare separate proposals for creating both versions from scripts and translating an already completed original.
Define the delivery test
An internal viewing link, a YouTube upload and a downloadable client file are different deliverables. Write down resolution, branding, aspect ratio and caption delivery before making the sample. Confirm what the recipient can actually receive. Access to an editing screen through a free allowance does not establish that a production delivery requirement is covered. A useful hypothetical test is a thirty-second passage containing a product name, a quantity and one supporting image. That duration defines the assignment, not a promise about free capacity or output quality.
Map capacity to the actual feature
HeyGen presents several product capabilities on its plan page. A single displayed credit balance does not mean every feature produces the same number of finished videos. List the intended feature, model, output length and expected revision work, then check the applicable terms. Evaluate a website workflow against website subscriptions rather than importing API assumptions. Keep promotional charges, normal renewal costs and annual cash commitments in separate fields. This makes the continuation decision depend on the intended work instead of the most attractive headline price.
Review meaning and visible information
Test Japanese with names, abbreviations, units and a meaningful negation rather than judging language support from a list. A Japanese voice over an English interface may still leave viewers unable to identify the described control. Decide whether to explain the visible label or replace the image. Give the language reviewer the source qualifications and exceptions before asking about the voice impression. When shortening a translation to fit the scene, check that the explanation has not lost a condition that changes what the viewer should do.
Test one revision through delivery
After the first draft, change one product name and trace the correction through script, speech, captions and visible labels. Play the exported replacement beside neighboring scenes. Include the translated version in that exercise. Where the editor and approver are different people, comments must identify the exact version under review. Record preparation, review, correction and handoff time as well as generation waiting. The resulting task record is more useful for a weekly publishing decision than an isolated claim that the first draft was quick to generate.
Map source permission to publication
Maintain an asset record for client logos, likenesses, voices and photographs, including the supplied purpose. Material provided for a private pilot should not automatically become a public background or script. Distinguish recipients of a review link from the intended public audience. Obtain approval for the finished media rather than treating script approval as approval of every visible element. Include this boundary in the production handoff.
Keep an alternative production route
Choose HeyGen when the intended presenter or localization workflow meets delivery and revision requirements. If most work is shortening an existing conversation, compare transcript-led editing instead. A procedure demonstration may be clearer as a screen recording with narration and captions. Summarize required features, renewal costs, unresolved terms and remaining sample problems before committing. Where a real likeness or voice is involved, retain permission and the relevant service verification requirements separately. A successful technical export is not evidence that the source material can be used for every proposed publication.
