In this guide
  1. Start with the same content model
  2. Let the content operator complete an update
  3. Price publishing and collaboration separately
  4. Evaluate bilingual publication as continuing work
  5. Inspect current export scope on both platforms
  6. Choose with a migration and cancellation plan

Start with the same content model

Consider 80 case studies with industry, summary, images, owner and related services, growing by four cases each month. Link the Japanese and English versions of the same case and define what happens while translation is unfinished. Build the same fields and categories on both candidates, including a long company name, missing optional image and two related services. Public pages, CMS items and language versions are different quantities. Establish what constitutes one retained item before interpreting capacity tables or assuming that a bilingual page count directly equals a CMS allowance.

Include withdrawing a published case. Inspect list and related-item routes afterward so removing the body does not leave an obsolete promise elsewhere. Name the place where publication status is maintained.

Let the content operator complete an update

Ask a communications operator, rather than the designer, to add a case, describe an image, correct text, preview and publish. Separate content work from layout authority and check the actual entitlement for each role without relying on shared owner credentials. After the first successful addition, introduce another category. Record which routine changes still require the agency. This distinguishes editorial fit from interface preference and makes ongoing support estimable. A designer completing the demonstration does not establish that the future operator can maintain the same site with appropriate access.

Price publishing and collaboration separately

Inspect Framer Site and additional-editor requirements separately from Webflow Site and Workspace needs. The verified Framer Basic display is USD 10 monthly equivalent annually, but capacity and roles still need matching. Webflow Basic is USD 15 annually equivalent for non-CMS sites; the current CMS-capable Premium display is USD 25. Do not budget this case-study publication from the non-CMS Basic figure. Add required languages, capacity, outside forms and tax and distinguish first-year work from an ordinary renewal year. Buying a team environment does not automatically explain the cost of each published site.

Evaluate bilingual publication as continuing work

When Japanese content changes, review its English equivalent, text inside images and enquiry messages too. Verify matching-case language switching and the intended title and description on published pages. The existence of SEO controls does not establish that either product universally ranks better. Include long English headings and mobile layout and inspect that unfinished Japanese body text is not presented as a completed English version. Keep translation production separate from platform localization entitlements. The recurring publication procedure matters more than treating the initial translated page count as evidence of continuing accuracy.

Inspect current export scope on both platforms

Current Framer guidance describes downloading published HTML, CSS, JavaScript and assets, plus CMS CSV or JSON through plugins. Webflow documents code export on eligible paid Workspaces, with hosted CMS and form processing outside a complete working exported service. For either, separate visual output, editable content and the enquiry destination. Open retained files and inspect images and field mapping. Availability of an export should not become a promise that the same editing experience or connected operation automatically reappears on another host. Test the parts that the future operating model actually needs.

Choose with a migration and cancellation plan

Choose the candidate meeting the content, role, language and budget requirements. For a move, map old URLs to their intended destinations and verify representative cases and enquiries on the published site. Framer’s current cancellation guide retains benefits until the billing period ends; cancellation does not automatically establish refund eligibility. Inspect the applicable Webflow contract and effective change date as well. Domains, email and external bookings require separate review. End the old publishing arrangement only after both public information and the associated customer-contact operation are available in the new configuration.
