Inventory more than visible pages
Consider ten company pages, 60 cases, two languages and an enquiry form. Inventory static pages, CMS fields and categories, images, translations, old URLs and external forms separately. Visible-page counts miss drafts and references to related services. If routine editing is the constraint, compare correcting roles or fields before rebuilding. A platform change does not automatically supply a missing editorial owner. Decide with the business which content moves, consolidates or closes. This gives replacement candidates one explicit scope instead of allowing their template examples to determine what important material is accidentally omitted.
Test the editor’s ability to publish separately from an old-link visitor’s ability to reach the explanation they need.
Evaluate Webflow against one representative collection
If relationships, categories or listing structure drive the search, rebuild one representative collection in Webflow. A CMS requirement should not be quoted from non-CMS Basic; inspect the current CMS-capable Site offer and relevant Workspace separately. Compare content versus layout access. Include long headings, blanks and a related-item change and require the future operator to complete additions and corrections. Do not justify the move with an unmeasured promise of better rankings or speed. The useful evidence is that the actual content structure and continued editorial work fit the proposed configuration.
Choose the selling responsibility explicitly
For combined company content and small-scale selling, evaluate Squarespace; for commerce-led order work, include Shopify. Moving Framer’s appearance does not establish payment, order, return or historical customer-support continuity. Normalize product type, country, payment methods and added apps. Include keeping the external selling service and specify which system owns prices and stock. Separate recurring platform fees, selling fees, processing and operator work. This exposes the replacement operation behind a smaller page-builder invoice and avoids treating unlike commerce architectures as equivalent merely because both can display product information.
Treat Carrd as a deliberate scope reduction
Carrd can be a smaller option when the offer genuinely reduces to one service and one enquiry route. Cramming 60 cases into one long page does not replace a categorized continuing publication. Decide what remains and what moves elsewhere and check the Pro tier needed for domains or forms. If articles return in six months, include that planned rebuild. Distinguish reducing scope from omitting necessary functions to produce a lower quote. Verify that readers still reach important explanations and the contact route, with an accountable destination for any operation removed from the public page.
Use the current Framer export scope accurately
Current official Framer guidance describes downloadable published HTML, CSS, JavaScript and assets, with CMS CSV or JSON exports through plugins. Do not rely on an old blanket assumption that content cannot leave. Equally, retaining published output differs from maintaining the same CMS editor or form operation elsewhere. Inspect required formats, images, translations and field relationships. The chosen plugin and destination can still create reconstruction work. Verify a usable retained case before estimating the entire migration, and distinguish an official portability statement from a claim that every destination reproduces the original editing experience automatically.
Move public routes before ending the old service
Map old URLs, destination content, enquiry routes and language switching. Validate representative public pages and the form-to-operator handoff. Framer’s current cancellation guide retains benefits through the billing period; cancellation alone does not confirm a refund. External selling and booking need individual contract review even when the Site plan stops. Compare transition cost, continuing cost and operator work with a targeted repair of the present site. Secure usable data and complete the public transition before the effective contract change. The chosen alternative should resolve the defined constraint while preserving the customer journey the business still needs.
