In this guide
  1. Compare the same application task
  2. Separate form counts from response capacity
  3. Match paid requirements before comparing prices
  4. Inspect file access beyond the form
  5. Keep respondent corrections separate from review state
  6. Retain usable answers before closing the campaign

Compare the same application task

Consider 250 applications for a consultation event, asking for a preferred date, request and available documents. Define necessary branches first, such as requesting a file only when a document exists. Use long requests, not-applicable choices, corrections and phone input rather than a name-only sample. Record a preference about the interaction if useful, but claims about completion or time require observations from the intended audience. Do not convert a visual preference into a measured outcome. Both candidates should receive the same question purpose and representative answers before drawing a selection conclusion.

Add a date change during the campaign. Preserve the meaning of earlier answers and do not treat editing the form as proof that earlier applicants were informed. The operator should distinguish retained answers from the revised public instructions.

Separate form counts from response capacity

Tally’s free-form and submission offer carries fair-use conditions. Typeform’s current Free guide describes ten monthly responses across all forms and notes that pricing experiments can produce account differences. For a 250-application campaign, inspect the actual account’s required allowance. Splitting the campaign into three forms should not be assumed to triple capacity. Check treatment of internal checks and resubmissions and inspect what happens when concentrated arrivals reach the limit. A continuing Free offer, a paid-feature trial and a sufficient production allowance are separate conditions in this comparison.

Match paid requirements before comparing prices

List domains, branding, editors, analysis and retention controls separately. The verified Tally Pro monthly offer is USD 29, while Business addresses additional requirements such as retention management. Typeform presents multiple product families and offer variants, so this comparison does not assert one universal paid starting amount. Match the 250-response requirement and actual people to the relevant offer. Comparing one candidate’s smallest collection setup with another including advanced analysis is not a like-for-like budget. Retain the selected product family, billing term and necessary entitlement in the quotation.

Inspect file access beyond the form

If documents move to a table or notification, decide whether the integration copies the file or forwards a URL. Tally’s official guidance describes token-bearing integration file links that can open without a Tally login. Inspect the access granted to readers of the receiving sheet as well as form-service users. For Typeform, verify the required file capability and export route in the selected plan. Use disposable material without publishing test URLs. The operating requirement is appropriate access to the current document, not simply the presence of an upload field in both products.

Keep respondent corrections separate from review state

When an applicant changes a date, distinguish the original answer, correction request and confirmed current date. An answer edit and an operator’s reviewed state should not become the same ambiguous field. In a separate register, verify the necessary correction operation instead of assuming later edits automatically synchronize. Retain legitimate new applications while identifying repeated delivery through submission identity. Reconcile accepted, awaiting-review and confirmed counts rather than relying on notification totals. This exposes omissions after submission and lets the comparison include the actual follow-up work required by the campaign.

Retain usable answers before closing the campaign

Separate the public closing date, the end of required paid capabilities and the retention review. Reopen exports to verify question mapping, options and record count and inspect file retention independently from a URL list. Typeform selection and filters can restrict exported scope. Verify post-cancellation access and the effective billing change through official procedures. Closing public intake and deleting answers are different actions. For the next campaign or another provider, preserve question meaning and confirm that the operator can use retained material; a downloaded file alone does not demonstrate completed migration.
