Inspect the question specification
Inventory questions, options, required rules, branches and files. A complex legacy flow may improve through fewer unnecessary questions rather than another product alone. Begin with the respondent’s task and needed information instead of adopting the replacement’s most attractive template as the specification.
Evaluate Tally for the intake layer
For Tally, inspect fair use and required paid entitlements. A Typeform response allowance and Tally’s unlimited wording are not a complete ranking of every operating condition. Equalize corrections, files, collaboration and domains and test the actual operator’s work.
Consider a register-oriented intake
If ownership and state change repeatedly after submission, consider intake associated with a Baserow or Airtable register. Compare identifiers, access and duplicates as well as field appearance. External submission should not be assumed to require access to every internal record.
Define what historical answers must retain
Use the documented Typeform export while checking selection and filters. Verify question-to-column mapping, multiple selections and files. Historical answers may belong in an appropriate retained archive rather than being artificially resubmitted through the new form; distinguish retention from future operational records.
A hypothetical pre-interview intake move
For a hypothetical hundred pre-interview intakes, distinguish documents, dates, owner and review status. A mid-campaign change needs a rule for records created through either form and for corrections by the same person. Reconcile intake counts instead of assuming both routes can remain active indefinitely without coordination.
Review the complete replacement cost
Price notifications, register, integration and operator time alongside the replacement form. Verify cancellation timing and continued access to required history. Separate closing a public route from deleting retained answers and keep record locations explicit until migration validation is complete.
Preserve the meaning of historical answers
Suppose a fictional satisfaction survey changes the wording of a five-point scale. Matching numeric values or column names does not establish that the measurement remains comparable. Retain question text, options, audience and collection period in the migration specification. If the meaning changes materially, keeping the later results as a separate series can be more honest than combining them into an apparently continuous trend.
