Comparing hosted versions first exposes action and governance fit without confusing them with deployment responsibility. State excluded work too, so an attractive demonstration does not quietly expand into an unpriced customer-management or judgment system.

Inspect action coverage rather than integration names

A code step need not automatically count against a candidate if it is understandable and maintainable. Conversely, an apparently native connector can still omit the needed operation. Base the comparison on the particular actions required by the business, not the size of either published integration directory or an assumed no-code advantage.

Translate work into each meter independently

Normalize currency, commitment, included usage and additional consumption for usable configurations. Evaluate an actual two-person operating model

A free tier or self-hosting option does not establish that every required control is included. Compare the same partial-failure incident

Receiving an error alert is less useful than an operator explaining what already completed and what remains. Use one production writer and validate equivalent outcomes before changing subscriptions.
