Define the standard-service job

Start with a small measurement job involving important pages and actions. Free access to reports does not establish correct implementation. Verify destinations, event meaning and duplication before evaluating broader capabilities. The first useful outcome is a reliable observation that supports an improvement decision, not a large collection of configured reports nobody has checked.

Assess 360 against a specific requirement

Investigate 360 when a documented standard-service limitation or organizational requirement matters. A large page count alone is not an adequate purchasing specification. Compare actual volume, retention and support needs with current official limits, then prepare a scoped request for a quote. Do not substitute an old published estimate for the contract your organization would require.

Budget external storage separately

An export to BigQuery introduces a separate storage and query operating model. Free standard Analytics access does not make every connected platform free. Specify retention, aggregation frequency and who may run work. Monitor the chosen external setup and avoid accumulating unnecessary processing simply because the connector is available. Confirm its own pricing before committing to a design.

Example: operating a small monthly measurement routine

In an illustrative monthly review of ten pages, record validation, missing-data investigation and reporting time. Zero licence cost does not eliminate that effort. Simplify fields or reports where they produce work without decisions. If an actual retention or processing constraint blocks required analysis, document it as a reason to evaluate another configuration or contract rather than assuming more access is always better.

Plan retention and retirement together

Include handover and retirement in the cost model. Preserve necessary definitions and records and review tags and linked destinations. Do not assume every historical view remains available indefinitely; verify retention and suitable exports. Keep authoritative business records distinct from analytics observations when deciding what may be removed or stopped. A sustainable budget covers the whole lifecycle of measurement.
