Separate retiring work from Connect

Inventory the actual service and running processes. Do not assume every Pipedream integration must migrate because Workflows is retiring. Identify the affected work, then retain its trigger, frequency, outputs and operator separately from unaffected Connect usage.

Evaluate a maintained-script destination

For substantial custom calculations or API logic, evaluate an execution setup such as Windmill with an available maintainer. Inspect dependencies, authentication and inputs; an exported structure is not a guarantee of unchanged execution elsewhere. Establish ongoing code ownership rather than finishing only the rebuild.

Evaluate an app-handoff destination

For lookups, writes and alerts, check the exact operations available in n8n or Activepieces. Distinguish standard actions from custom API work. Compare managed and self-hosted configurations with their actual placement and staffing requirements rather than treating them as equal operating responsibilities.

Treat export as a specification input

The official export route supplies migration material, not guaranteed direct execution in another product. Preserve ordering, conditions, stored state and connection owners independently. Keep secrets out of documentation and prepare legitimate connection setup at the destination.

Stage a report and a mutating job differently

A hypothetical report can compare outputs from the same inputs. An order-confirmation job needs a single authorized writer rather than two production executions. Separate read-only validation, output comparison and writer cutover, using the side-effect risk to determine the migration sequence.

Define migration completion and retention

For every moved job, retain verification of ordinary, duplicate and expired-connection cases. Check the official retirement and deletion timeline and secure necessary material beforehand. Cleaning up retiring Workflows is not the same operation as deleting an entire account that may also contain unaffected Connect integrations.

Give every migration item an acceptance condition

For five fictional jobs, retain inputs, outputs, last completed window and cutover owner. Distinguish saved replacement code from validated business outcomes on the intended input. Stop only work whose replacement passes its acceptance condition and keep unverified items visible. A deadline-driven migration needs evidence that the operation continues at its destination, not merely reassurance that old configuration was downloaded.
