Specify the learning-system outcome

Pilot one five-minute onboarding lesson in the actual learning management system. Decide whether the requirement is playback, recorded completion or a passed assessment. An MP4, shared player and SCORM package are different deliverables. Creating content in Colossyan, Synthesia or HeyGen does not establish identical LMS export access under every plan. List learner actions, administrative records and organizational conditions before selecting the product configuration. The pilot should demonstrate the required learning-system outcome with the intended users and destination, rather than stopping when a visually successful lesson is generated inside an authoring editor.

Confirm the product and supported package

Colossyan’s current guidance distinguishes Video from Learn and their SCORM-version support. Do not budget roadmap items, such as Learn’s SCORM 2004 support or xAPI, as available capability. Where pricing and feature descriptions differ on plan access, resolve the exact product and export requirement before purchase. For another service, obtain an appropriate sample package rather than inferring compatibility from a feature label. A matching standard name does not demonstrate every required display, tracking and resume behavior in the organization’s environment. Break these into individual pilot checks and test the proposed subscription configuration.

Test completion separately from success

Colossyan documents completion based on starting or ending separately from success against a scored assessment. Plan cases for opening then closing, reaching the end, answering incorrectly and passing. Define the expected record first. Watching to the end is not itself evidence of understanding. If the organization requires end-based completion, check that merely opening the lesson does not satisfy it. Reconcile learner display with administrator records, keeping test attempts distinguishable. This turns a general assertion that tracking works into observable acceptance cases for the configured lesson, without claiming the pilot has already produced those results.

Test resume and hosted dependencies

Close the lesson partway through and reopen it, checking the required position, captions, language and answers. Colossyan distinguishes ordinary and interactive-video behavior, so do not assume identical saved state everywhere. Separate streamed media from a self-contained delivery and test access from the organization’s network. A downloaded ZIP does not by itself establish an offline package or unchanged behavior after the provider subscription ends. Identify each hosted dependency and the arrangement required for the intended retention period. This is particularly relevant when the organization needs the material to remain available outside the original authoring service.

Rehearse a revised lesson

Change one button name and agree with the LMS administrator how the replacement is installed. Test the actual reimport, separate-course or shared-source update required by that environment. Define the expected treatment of earlier learning records rather than guessing. Roadmap language such as dynamic updating is not evidence of an available automatic replacement path. Associate source revision, language, package and LMS identifier, and map places where older copies remain. The pilot is complete only when a normal correction can be released deliberately, with the organization understanding which content and records are affected.

Record cost, approval and exit requirements

Estimate ten launch lessons and two recurring revisions, separating generation, localization, editors, required exports and administrator work. Mark anything evaluation access did not permit as unverified and resolve the applicable plan. Retain scripts, images, outputs, necessary packages, test instructions and approvals, coordinating learning-record handling with the LMS owner. Define what survives cancellation and what continued delivery depends on. Resolve the limitations found in this small pilot before authoring the full library. That provides a concrete basis for purchasing and distribution, rather than a broad promise that every generated lesson will work identically in every learning system.
