Clarify the Free baseline
Free PR access centers on summarization, distinct from paid PR review. Inspect CLI and editor conditions separately. The useful baseline is whether normal target work receives the information you need after trial, not simply whether an installation works without a payment method.
Compare equivalent billing periods
The official Essentials offer is USD30 per developer month-to-month or USD24 per month equivalent when billed annually. Do not treat the annual equivalent as a one-month commitment. Align contract duration, then verify taxes, currency and account terms. Older plan names should not be assumed to describe the current offer.
Check seats and usage separately
Separate seat count from each developer’s review pattern. Large patches and repeatedly updated PRs can consume limits differently. Inspect actual review records and identify the missing feature or capacity before choosing a tier. A more expensive feature list is not a reason to purchase capabilities the team does not use.
Budget extra usage explicitly
Eligible plans can enable usage-based reviews beyond included limits. Treat this separately from the subscription, and do not assume independently billed on-demand products are bundled. Identify who authorizes additional usage and where it is reconciled before enabling it. This preserves an explainable budget rather than an open-ended allowance.
Example: a three-reviewer pilot
In a hypothetical three-person pilot, record accepted findings and triage time, including work spent on findings that could not be reproduced. Compare the full contract cost against changes to review delay and useful discoveries. A larger comment count is not itself an economic benefit.
Check seats and renewal on exit
Removing an integration and reducing billed seats are separate checks. Inspect renewal, effective dates and remaining app access, and preserve useful decision history. Review repository requirements so the end of an automated-review arrangement does not unintentionally remove the human acceptance process the team still needs.
