Weight the operations you use
Split a normal day into completion, explanation and larger changes. Weight the frequent operations more heavily than an unusual demonstration. Similar-looking features can require different context and review work, so record the effort to supply evidence and inspect results within the IDE you actually use.
Inspect effective organizational policy
Distinguish personal availability from organization policy. Check model governance, entitlement and billing ownership for both setups. Verify that the same information may be used in the pilot. An existing agreement’s name does not establish every required feature, so inspect effective settings rather than relying on plan familiarity.
Avoid overlapping assistance in the pilot
Keep one change owner per pilot task. Multiple active completion or editing systems make attribution difficult and can introduce interference. Disable the unused route during controlled evaluation so an awkward result can be investigated as either model behavior or configuration interaction, rather than both at once.
Explain any additional purchase
If the existing arrangement completes the required work, avoiding another recurring fee can be sensible. For additional access, identify the missing capability or capacity. Include the IDE, AI and independent-provider agreements where relevant, then compare reduced task effort against the configuration and administration introduced by a second tool.
Example: extend an existing test suite
For a hypothetical converter, agree the boundary-case expectations before asking each candidate to extend its tests. Evaluate whether the suite detects the intended defect and avoids unrelated rewrites. The useful outcome is an independently understood test oracle, not a larger count of passing assertions.
Standardize the handoff
Preserve non-secret descriptions of the accepted model and feature settings. Verify that a new maintainer can execute the same checks and separately review unused subscriptions and plugins. Keep change history in the repository so project startup and validation do not depend on continuing one AI contract.
