Reasons to choose
  • Iterate on web interfaces and features conversationally
  • Export and sync project code with GitHub
  • Refine projects using preview and code view
  • Evaluate a path from web-app prototype to publishing
Before you subscribe
  • Exporting code does not automatically migrate databases or authentication
  • Check credit categories and expiry
  • Token counts are not directly comparable with another vendor’s message credits

In this guide
  1. Build the same small application
  2. Do not equate credits with tokens
  3. Plan source and data handoff separately
  4. Judge the revision workflow

Build the same small application

Choose a modest app with an input form, list and edit operation. Keep the user role and stored information identical, and begin with the same requirement description. Comparing a display-only prototype in one service with a database-backed app in another does not produce a useful cost or workflow comparison. Give each attempt the same completion criteria.

Do not equate credits with tokens

Lovable and Bolt describe usage with different units. Compare the consumption required to finish a feature and make one realistic revision, rather than comparing the numbers printed on their allowance cards. Separate annual-equivalent prices from monthly checkout and inspect what happens when more capacity is needed. Running costs also matter once other people use the application.

Plan source and data handoff separately

Current official documentation describes GitHub code synchronization for both Lovable and Bolt. For an existing project, verify the relevant import, synchronization and branch conditions rather than assuming a fresh-project demonstration establishes compatibility. Inventory source, database records, authentication, secret configuration and external agreements separately. Code synchronization alone does not transfer every operating asset or permission; rehearse the required destination before considering the handoff complete.

Judge the revision workflow

Add a field, restrict data visibility by user, submit invalid input and delete a record under the same test conditions. Inspect whether a fix breaks an unrelated action. Choose based on the manual correction and handoff effort as well as visual preference. We have not run a measured head-to-head benchmark; these are practical evaluation criteria for a purchase trial, supported by the vendors’ documented billing and workflow descriptions.
